On December 23, 2019, international exchange department, Shanghai Customs College (SCC) hosted the Closing Ceremony for 2019 International Students. Wang Liying, Director of the international exchange department (WCO Asia-Pacific Regional Training Centre), attended and addressed the ceremony. Also present were Song Zhaoyan, a lecturer at the Office of Students' Affairs and a tutor for international students; as well as Cheng Jing and Guo Xiangnan, principal staff members at the Office of International Exchange.
Ms. Wang congratulated international students on passing the exam and completing their exchange programs in this semester, hoping that they would bring the knowledge learned, as well as Chinese culture and spirit experienced back to their countries and universities. Then the Office of International Exchange issued certificates of completion to international students.
SCC enrolled 26 one-semester international students (25 from the North-West Institute of Management of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration and 1 from the Fontys University of Applied Sciences of the Netherlands) in 2019, up 30 percent compared to 20 students enrolled in 2018. They took courses such as Primary Spoken Chinese, Cross-cultural Business Communication, International Economic Law, International Trade Practice, Supply Chain Management, Principles of Economics and Trade Security and Facilitation, and participated in a variety of Chinese culture experience programs including Chinese martial arts.
