SCC now has 143 full-time teachers, including 16 professors and 51 associate professors,  48% of whom boast a senior professional title. 80 teachers have a doctor’s degree and 50 a master’s degree, accounting for 91% of the total. The faculty is well-structured and exhibits outstanding teaching and scientific research capabilities. With affiliates including the Institute of Customs Administration and research centers on customs laws, customs risk control, tariffs, customs public relations and customs declaration, SCC undertakes scientific research in line with customs reform and development with a focus on hot issues and challenges related to bilateral, multilateral and regional customs cooperation. In 2009, SCC established Shanghai Social Science Innovation Research Base and Shanghai Development Strategy Research Institute Working Room. It also runs the academic publication Journal of Customs and Trade.
