Ms. Brendah Mundia, Deputy Director of WCO Capacity Building Directorate visited Shanghai Customs College (SCC) from September 25 to October 1, 2019 at its invitation. On September 26, she gave a lecture entitled An Introduction to the WCO & Its Capacity Building Initiatives to the 2019 MPA students. Organized by the MPA Education Center, co-organized by the International Exchange Department and the Graduate Department, this lecture is an important part of SCC's efforts to build top graduate programs in accordance with international standards.
Through the WCO senior official's interpretation of capacity building initiatives, the MPA students acquired a clearer knowledge of and gained insight into the highest standards and development frontier of international customs, the path of capacity building, current common challenges for global customs, management tool use and standard setting.
The MPA students spoke highly of this lecture. It not only provided insight into the latest development trend of international customs set by WCO, but also enlightened the students about how to improve their personal ability and comprehensive quality.
In the context of internationalization, to further advance the effective implementation of SCC's top graduate programs in accordance with WCO's standards, WCO will continue to integrate WCO's PICARD standards into graduate training, and keep exploring diversified paths for international talent training.
